Branding
I have been very fortunate to work for some companies with very strong brand identities. These companies include Polaroid, Imation, Memorex, TDK Life on Record and 3M. Many of these brands have a strong global impression with customers. This experience has given me the skills to understand a companies brand and how to utilize that brand to speak to and engage the customer.
One project that I think shows my ability to understand a companies brand and how to create a successful design campaign was on a project for Polaroid. This project was for Polaroid’s brand new product the PoGo. It was Polaroid’s attempt to recapture the magic of the instant film era in the now digital age. I was tasked with designing the logo, packaging, marketing and lead the lifestyle photoshoot for the product. Our thought process was that this product was for the young (teenager to early 20’s) so that was my primary focus with the design. I wanted bright colors that used the Polaroid Pixel colors for reference while showing young people being active and in groups. I also wanted the packaging to have a kind of retro feel to it while being still current. We wanted to really capitalize on the history of Polaroid’s instant cameras while updating it for today with this easy and on the go product.
